This chessboard has a hidden compartment below the playing area. Utilizing a custom key to unlatch the hand-cut and shaped brass latch and lock and opening the hidden compartment. Finished with Odies Oil for a beautiful and protective hard wax finish that can be easily reapplied. Using the natural contrasting colours of roasted maple and hard maple for the playing area and roasted maple and white maple for the border.
